Corset Chair - A Victorian lady's boudoir chair in a dusky pink and chocolate brown colourway with a fully boned Victorian style corset back and mini cushion. The frame is Victorian and has been stripped and oiled. The chair has been newly reupholstered to a very high standard in the traditional handcrafted way with new springs. Dimensions are, height of seat from floor 35cm rising to 41cm at the highest point (mid seat). Depth front to back (at deepest point). 64cm Height of legs 21cm. Height of complete chair 71cm.

Man's Jacket Chair - A Man's vintage Heals armchair with an integral honey colored vintage man's leather jacket with brass stud work and iPOD earphones. The fabric is heavy gold diamond printed linen by Osborne Little. The chair has been newly reupholstered to a very high standard in the traditional handcrafted way. The wood has been stripped and oiled.

Bow Dining Chair - Influenced by an underwear set, this antique dining chair has a soft peach damask fabric top cover with broderie anglaise and large black satin bow. The chair has been newly upholstered in the traditional handcrafted way including new springs. The frame has been stripped and oiled.

'Woolcoat' Armchair - Combining textures and techniques in wool, this modern (recycled) piece is covered in wool flannel by Abraham Moon and has a section of a wool overcoat made integral to it. The garment has been given the look of morphing into the chair by the use of the traditional technique of dry felting with merino wool. The overcoat also has a wool fringe trim from V V Rouleaux. The wood legs have been stripped.

Couture Ball Gown Chair - This winged armchair is an original 1930's piece that has been upholstered to reflect the features of a couture ball gown. The chair has a pleated skirt with layers under netting. There is a functioning zip at the back that opens to reveal a silver silk satin lining and diamante trim. The zip pull has a giant black and diamante tassel attached. The chair is upholstered in Designers Guild faux suede and the feather seat cushion and outside wings are covered in silk drill. The wood had been stripped and oiled.

Cape Footstool - An antique footstool that has been covered with dark gold fabric and a recycled luxury dark gold sheepskin mini cape. The stool has brass stud work and part sheepskin trim. The original label on the cape is visible on the top of the stool. The frame is antique and the legs have been stripped and oiled.

 

The Pink label from Sarah Louise Dix Couture Upholstery is the sister label to the Couture label.

Under the Pink label we are producing limited edition corset chairs and footstools at a more affordable cost. Corset Chair at 500 pounds and Footstool at 110 pounds. The main elements of our design style and uniqueness is maintained as production of each colourway will run too ten only.
The Corset Chair design and make has been simplified. The frames are new but exact copies of the original Victorian shape. The pieces are upholstered using modern methods that include the use of foam and spring units. The footstools also have a new frame and modern upholstery.    

We also provide a bespoke service under this label. You could pick your favorite two colours and have a corset chair with a matching footstool made to order.

SLD Upholstery services can reupholster modern or traditional pieces that need a revamp to a high standard. The company will give a new look and feel to a small stool or a large armchair (sorry no sofas).
