Sarah Louise Dix comprises of the Couture Label, Pink Label, Upholstery Services and the Upholstery Courses.

All the furniture is designed and handmade in England.

The Couture Label specialises in the design and upholstery of top quality period, vintage, mid century modern and select reclaimed modern furniture inspired by the construction and form of clothing. The Label is synonymous with exclusive, high-end luxurious unique products.

The label’s designs are part artwork part furniture creating highly individual finished pieces. Sarah Louise Dix Couture Label takes inspiration from garments in many different ways. Some designs physically incorporate a garment into the piece itself creating a surreal air while others have structural elements such as corsetry or tailoring, which are individually crafted for each piece.

Each item of antique or vintage furniture is traditionally and sympathetically restored then reupholstered using authentic materials.  Where possible, original parts from the furniture are restored and reused, such as horse hair. We also use antique or vintage fabric and garments.

The collection currently includes ‘The Bow Dinning Chair’; ‘The Man’s Jacket Chair’ with an integral leather jacket and stud work; ‘The Corset Chair’ with a fully boned Victorian corset back and optional mini cushion.  ‘The Mini Cape Footstool’; ‘The Couture Ball Gown Chair’, ‘The Woolcoat Chair’ and the Corset Chaise longue.

The collection was shown at the London menswear show Stitch in February 2010 on the Blaqua menswear stand. Select items of the collection are stocked at both the Blaqua shops in Newburg Street W1 and Kings Road SW3 and the Wey Gallery, Godalming

2010 has seen the launch of the Pink Label by Sarah Louise Dix. The Pink Label is the diffusion range from the company and produces limited edition reproduced Corset Chairs, Footstools and other pieces from the Couture Collection in the couture style at a more affordable price. The Corset Chair design has been simplified, the frames are new copies of the Victorian original and are upholstered using modern methods and materials. The Corset Chair is available through the website or at Follit New Street Petworth and Lingwood Samuel Church Street Godalming.

Upholstery Services offers a full reupholstery service for clients. This can include a design consultation, frames and fabric sourcing.

We also run 10 week Upholstery Courses in Surrey
