Sarah Louise Dix Couture Upholstery consists of the Couture Label, the Pink Label and SLD Upholstery Services.

The Couture Label specialises in the design and upholstery of top quality period, vintage, mid century modern and select reclaimed modern furniture inspired by the construction and form of clothing.  The Label is synonymous with exclusive, high-end luxurious products.

The company’s designs are part artwork part furniture, uniquely influenced by items of clothing creating highly individual finished pieces.  Sarah Louise Dix Couture Label takes inspiration from garments in many different ways. Some designs physically incorporate a garment into the piece itself creating a surreal air while others have structural elements such as corsetry or tayloring, which are individually crafted for each piece.

Each item of antique or vintage furniture is traditionally and sympathetically restored then reupholstered using authentic materials.  Where possible, original parts from the furniture are restored and reused, such as horse hair. We also use antique or vintage fabric and garments.

Sarah Louise Dix Couture Upholstery was formed in 2005 by Sarah Dix and is now producing and selling individual flamboyant upholstery pieces through the Couture Label.

2010 has seen the launch of the Pink Label by Sarah Louise Dix Couture Upholstery. The Pink Label is the diffusion range from Sarah Louise Dix and produces limited edition Corset Chairs and Footstools in the couture style at a more affordable price. The Corset Chair at 500 pounds and the Footstool at 110 pounds. The Corset Chair design has been simplified, the frames are new and are upholstered using modern methods.

SLD Upholstery Services offers a full reupholstery service for clients. This can include a design consultation, frames and fabric sourcing.
